Hi! My name is Penny Colbert-Medina.
I am a graduate of SUNY Oswego (BA in German) and SUNY Albany (MS in T.E.S.O.L.). Before coming to Liberty, I spent two years living in Germany, studying at the University of Wurzburg, and working there as the On-site Director of the Study Abroad Program for SUNY. I also worked for two years at two German speaking high schools in Austria as an English Teaching Assistant through the Fulbright Program. It was in Austria that I began to become interested in the teaching profession. This is my 24th year working at Liberty Central Schools. (Where did the time go??) I began teaching ESL here in both the MS and HS in 1992. I currently teach grades 9-12.
I live in Loch Sheldrake with my daughters Carla and Sophia. Our son Roothland,is a music teacher at the Liberty BOCES and Liberty ES.
In my free time I enjoy watching foreign films, listening to all kinds of music, traveling, working in the garden and spending time with family.
