This course is an intensive survey of American History from about 1600 to the end of the 20th century. The course is the equivalent to a college-level course and demands of students a significant commitment of time and effort. The course is designed to prepare students to pass the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Examination in U.S. History, which will be given in the spring. In addition to covering the narrative history of the United States, the course teaches students to analyze historical documents and write historical essays.
