Students wishing to earn a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation must take 3 years of Spanish. Spanish 3 emphasizes advancing communication skills while stressing using grammar and vocabulary with accuracy. This course is conducted in Spanish and English by both instructor and student. This course expands upon one’s previous knowledge of Spanish with the goal of improving speaking, reading listening and writing skills. Oral communication will be conducted on routinely to strengthen listening comprehension, pronunciation and conversation skills. Additionally, Hispanic culture will be an integral part of the course as it is an integral part of the language. Overall, Spanish 3 will emphasize the use of the Spanish language for ACTIVE COMMUNICATION. By the end of this course, students will have developed confidence to use both oral and written components of the Spanish language in real life situations. Students will also challenge a Regents equivalent exam, in order to contribute to earning a Regents with Advanced Designation high school diploma.
This course will prepare a student to confidently enter Spanish 4 the following year.
