DISNEY INFO 1
FINAL DISNEY INFORMATION FOR TRAVELERS AND FAMILIES AT HOME
A. Saturday February 14th mandatory rehearsal 10am – HS Band room – rehearse and pack truck (which departs immediately following our rehearsal)

  1.  During our stay it is expected that all students will be respectful, positive, and courteous to everyone from anywhere.  All Horseheads School District rules apply to behavior and language, as well as consequences for the infractions.  Your field trip experience can be ruined by a necessary punishment as well as for the chaperones that will need to ruin their own time to enforce it.  The Horseheads District field trip guidelines state that should there be any violation of the rules and regulations of the trip, the supervisors have the authority to have the student returned home at the parents’ expense.  If the student is detained by law enforcement for any serious crimes such as stealing, vandalism, use of banned substances, or anything else of comparable severity, parents will be contacted to negotiate.
  2. Important items to remember: your paper ticket, plastic tickets for families, Legal identification, cell phone AND charger, traveler’s checks/cash, camera. You are responsible for your own items. Don’t feel you need to recreate your world here in FL for 5 days. You are on vacation. COMFORTABLE SHOES for the miles you will be walking, Swimwear, jeans, shorts with deep pockets, tops, tightly folded rain poncho, A sweater, A sweatshirt – or save the room and buy something w/Mickey on it,  underwear, bath necessities, sunglasses, sunscreen,  Do not bring expensive electronics, valuable jewelry, or emotionally irreplaceable anythings.  Use the wall safe for your lesser-valuables, hide extra money in your suitcases or entrust it to any chaperone.
  3.  Complementary Wi-Fi is at the Walt Disney Resorts and theme park public places. There will be no room charges. Anything must be paid directly from your pocket.
  4. Do not use the room phones. You all have cell phones.  Do NOT give your credit card number to anyone over the phone ever. Do not give out your cell phone or room numbers/location to anyone who is not part of our Horseheads trip.  You will put the safety of all of us at risk.
  5. Disney has been one of the most pro-active resorts regarding the bed-bug problems plaguing many hotels.  Check your mattresses upon entering.  Keeping your clothes in your zipped up suitcase and off the floor are the best ways to avoid problems.
  6. Sunday Feb. 15, 2015: arrive at HHS 10:00am
1 reasonably sized bag with luggage tag with YOUR name on it.
1 carry on – some snacks, e-readers/ipads, ear phones, phone.
A small pillow and blanket are fine too

  1. Your hopper passes are good for 4 days and give you unlimited access to the FOUR MAJOR THEME PARKS: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. You do not need your ticket for the Disney Marketplace. Your hopper pass does NOT admit you to DisneyQuest (Downtown Disney West End) nor Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark.
  2. You must keep your magic band( this is your room ‘key’: “Mickey-to-Mickey”), hopper pass card, and emergency info card with you and secure at all times. The emergency info card has the nurse, direct chaperones, & resort phone numbers on it. STUDENTS MUST ALWAYS ANSWER CALLS AND TEXTS FROM CHAPERONES.
  3. Everyone is up and out in the parks every morning and in your room by curfew every night.  Every room will be checked at wake up and curfew and all important information such as that day’s required meeting times, park times, curfew, and safety reminders will be shared by your primary chaperones. Information will also be posted on centrally located White board. There will be PRIZES for the neatest rooms! (Curfew and wakeups may change daily based on park closing times – you MAY get up as early as you wish and head to the parks.)
  4. No one of opposite gender is allowed in each others’ resort rooms at any time. Room curtains/blinds will remain open during the day from morning exit to evening return. If you return to the resort with your group to swim, you MUST check in with the chaperone on duty at our closest pool BEFORE going to your room.
  5.   Stay in groups no smaller than 4.  If you are going to do something with your parents and leave your ”group”   - the group still has to have 4 and you need to notify your chaperone, get a parents note and have the chaperone physically present and you go to your parents.
  6. Follow the ‘3 –before-me’ rule when you are confused: Is the answer in any of my handouts? Does my friend or roommate know the answer? Does my chaperone know the answer?
