Home School Connection
Here are some activities that you can do at home to support your student's learning.

Reading - Listen to your child read.  Encourage them to try out unfamiliar words.  Ask them questions about what the story was about or any facts they learned while reading.  Read a book to them.  Listening to fluent reading is a model for students to become more fluent readers themselves.

Math - Practice math facts with your child.  Students should be focusing on multiplication and division at this point.  However, it is always good to go back and review addition and subtraction as well.    Printable flashcards can be found on this
helpful site.  In our Math Fun tab there is a game called Math Magician which is also a helpful and fun resource for practicing facts at home.  Students are sent home each night with their math stacks of multiplication facts.  Students should practice these facts as much as possible.  These stacks should be sent back to school each day to be used in class as well.
