"Identifying" students to participate in AIS ELA:
Students become "identified" primarily through state and district assessments. Also, teachers and administrators look at report cards and class assessments. Teachers and administrators meet to frequently discuss student performance and make recommendations for students' instruction needs and possible placement into AIS ELA.
**Teachers and administrators will watch, and frequently evaluate, student progress through testing and other means.
