The Art Room 3 R's

The Students and I go over the Art room rules on the first day of class.  Also, each student is given a pamphlet with the rules, reponsibilities, and other art program information.  They are to take the pamphlet home and review it with their parents to help ensure a successful and safe year in the Art room.

My students are granted three Art room privileges with the expectations of following the rules, demonstrating reponsibility and showing respect (to the teacher, fellow students, the art projects and materials).  These privileges are:

1)  Students may sit with a buddy.

2)  During studio time, students may talk quietly with tablemates.

3)  During studio time, students may leave their seat (without asking permission) to get needed materials or to sharpen their pencil.

These privileges are given to encourage and promote creativity,  problem solving, quality work and a positive attitude in Art.

My policy is..."Don't abuse the privileges and you won't lose those privileges".

Pencil policy...Students are required to bring a #2 wooden pencil to each and every Art class.
