Classroom Behavior Plan
Positive behavior is a must in order to maintain a happy and
productive learning environment.
Whole Class Behavior:
Transitions:
The word TRANSITION is written on the top of the dry erase board for the class to clearly see. If the class is too talkative during transition times, they will lose a letter. Once letters are lost, they cannot be returned. The class needs to have at least 1 letter left on Friday in order to get Fun Friday free time at the end of the day. I usually give the class a reminder that they are transitioning and should be quick and quiet when getting their things put away or taken out for the next activity.
This is a whole class behavior plan and is not used to address individual student behavior, but rather the class as a whole.
Individual Student Behavior:
Individual students behavior is addressed using Public Disturbance Tickets. Public Disturbance Tickets serve as a visual reminder to demonstrate appropriate behavior in class. Tickets are collected before recess. Any tickets given in the afternoon carry over through the morning of the following day. If a student has been redirected to correct their behavior and does not do so then I issue them a ticket.
Public Disturbance
You have been cited for disturbing the
peace and concentration of your
classmates. The penalty for which is
as follows:
Ø Second offense- 5min. loss of recess
Ø Third offense- 10 min. loss of recess
Ø
Ø Fifth offense- WRITE-UP and trip to
the principals office as well as a note
home to parents
Public Disturbance Tickets are one way of dealing with classroom behavior that is disruptive to the learning process. These steps are only guidelines. If a student's behavior far exceeds what is deemed acceptable within the classroom, the student can/will be removed until they can get their behavior under control.
Classroom Disruptions Will Not Be Tolerated!
