  LMS Art Club

The Liberty Middle School Art Club is open to all students in Grades 5 through 8 who want more instruction in Art. Mr. Cormier, the Art Teacher at LMS, is the advisor of the club. We meet every Thursday after school from 3:00 until 4:00 pm in the Middle School Art Room (Room 109). Students may come to Art Club and do drawing and painting activities or projects of their own choosing. It is a time for students to use Art materials and resources that they may not have at home.

2014 Metropolitan Museum of Art Field Trip

Each year Mr. Cormier takes a field trip of 50 8th graders to one of the big Art museums in NYC. This is made possible by a generous grant from Target.



Liberty Middle School Student wins Scholastic Art And Writing Award!!!

One of our Liberty Middle School students, seventh grader Sydney Goetz, won a Silver Prize in the Scholastic Art And Writing Awards for our region. She submitted a necklace that she made and it was picked as a Silver winner out of thousands of submissions. Her necklace will be on display at SUNY New Paltz in the Fine Art Building through February 2010. Congratulations Sydney!

 During the 2010 school year Mr. Cormier and students in the LMS Art Club completed a mural on a wall in the first floor hallway at Liberty Middle School near the main office.

 Field Trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City

In May of 2010 Mr. Cormier took a group of 50 Eighth Grade students to the Met. This was made possible by a grant from the Target Corporation.
