NYS Certified Nursing Assistant Requirements must complete Semesters I, II & III

Semester I (September -January)

Health Occupations I (Afternoon classes)

• CORE  Required 208 hours (86.4 days)

 Modules 

• Introduction to Health Careers
• Legal and Ethical
• Overview on the Human Body
• Emergency Care
• Microbes
• Safety
• Life Cycle
• Personal Health and Wellness

Nurse Assistant Modules Semester II &III

• 108 Hours Theory
• 108 Hours Clinical (At McAuley Manor SNF and St. James Mercy Hospital)

Semester II (January -June) (Afternoon junior year)

• Nurse Assistant I  Clinical 3 days/week 1.75 hours /day

Semester III   (September -January) (Morning Classes senior year)

• Nurse Assist II Clinical 2 days/week 1.75 hours /day

If a student has met all of these requirements they will be able to take the

New York State Nursing Assistant Certification Exam

Semester IV (January –June)

Module:   Health Related Child Care

• Clinical at assigned day care 2 days/per week 1.75 hours/day
