------WRITING UNITS------

Author Study Unit = Students discovered that Gail Gibbons usually:

- writes about non-fiction material

- researches and asks experts about the topic

- labels her illustrations

- uses bright, vivid colors for the illustrations

Poetry Unit = Introduction into poerty and some key ideas that could be implemented into the students poetry.

- repeated words, strong imagery, descriptive words, rhyme, shape poems.

- more poetry vocabulary: alliteration, similie and personification

Letter Writing Unit = Students will continue to work on the art of letter writing, with friendly letters and business letters.
