You have to understand that responding to these posts will not happen for a couple of reasons.  First these will fill up the guestbook and they do take time to respond.  If is just to say hi an email is better as I can respond quickly and save space on the guest book for more involved messages.  I hope everyone understand.  Mr. Spencer

Hey Mr. Spencer its Alex again, how have classes gone for you this year? My classes have been great and the high school is huge but I kind of miss the little school I see that you have made some positive changes to your webpage here and I wanted to ask how Mavis is going I would love to do Mavis instead of the program we do at our school. I was sitting here and happened to click on your website icon on my favorites bar and it took me to the list of schools on toolbox box pro's main site. At school you had a shortcut strait to the home page of this site. How can I do that but in the favorites bar? I wanted to say something about the cool sites three, there are no other cool site pages any more so shouldn't it be just Cool sites? Didn't know if you had noticed but I wanted to point it out! I wanted to ask if the 4,000 characters max thing is an unchangeable preset through tool box pro our do you just not want to read that much in one comment? see you on the sixth!

Hi Rolf, the character max is set by ToolBoxPro, although I might be able to get through all my entries in my quest book if everyone wrote a novel.  LOL

I know about that Cool Sites 3, it was left over from long time ago and I am hoping to have time this summer to figure out where to put the sites in there or if I need to make new categories.

It depends on what browser you are using if you can make a short easy or not.  I will post more about this in the future.  It will be posted in blue as a general information response.

Mr. Spencer

Hey can't wait for base camp this summer. Checking out the videos now so I don't forget again! I like how the wbssite is constantly updated. I hate going to a website and seeing several years old stuff and nothing new or updated. it would be even better if you could attach spell check to these comments because I was reading through them and a lot is spelled wrong!

Yeah, no spell cheek LOL in the guest book.  The videos are a nice heads up for how the program works especially the introduction on how the program works.  I have been reviewing the CD and was surprised that is not just a simple stand in front of a green screen to get the different backgrounds.  It isn't hard but there are about four steps.  I try to keep the site interesting but it takes a little work.  Mr. Spencer

When I was logging on to ToolBoxPro there were other classrooms as I got on. When did the new classrooms/teachers websites get added.

Hi Dakota, the school decided to offer ToolBoxPro to all the teachers just last week.  The teachers listed are the ones that thought they might want to have a ToolBoxPro site of their own.  The site can offer a lot if you are a classroom teacher: such as home assignments, schedules, access for parents to know supplies the students need, and they can even assign a student a password for them to log in and take tests.  I simply use it as a webpage to arrange sites sites for student s to get help in different subjects, give access to self help videos and keep in touch with students even after you leave the building. Hi Megan,  I am having a nice weekend and thanks.  I have been doing a lot of emails lately for the BASE camp project and stuff for the end of the year and have found that I am even getting faster myself.  We are becoming such a messaging society that you have to get good at it or end wasting a lot of time that you could be doing other things.  Some people such as my wife has to reply to as many as 30-50 emails a day for her job.  Mr. Spencer

You have to be careful using to many graphics or it just becomes a web site with a lot of pictures.  I try to scatter the animated graphics within the website to dress it up.  There is a bear on one the Technology 1 link.  I try to find really nice animated graphics, as some of them are choppy or just bad.  Mr. Spencer

I am glad the 6th grade students like the sites I have on ToolBoxPro and will miss your class.  Keep in touch as I enjoy hearing from you after you get to the other building.  Always remember to try to use your keyboarding skills whenever you can, such as gaming, emailing etc., it will help build your skills of keyboarding.  I will keep trying to add new sites.  I have not really sat down and gone looking for any lately, been really busy with trying to setup BASE camp project.  I hope you have learned some cool stuff from being in my class.  I am sorry we had a year with a short time compared to other years, which cut down on what we could have done.  Mr. Spencer

It has been a while since I reviewed the guest book, posted messages left and apologize for that. I am glad so many students like this site. I did a major change to the format, thought it needed a facelift. The larger this beast get the more time it takes to maintain. Please don’t forget to let me know if a site doesn’t work. I have been playing about with Movie Maker and you will find some of my projects on this site as well as some movies students as have done. Keep leaving messages and I will try to post more frequently.   Because of space I can not post all entries.  If you are just leaving a message like " Hi Mr. Spencer " it will not be posted not because I don't want to hear from you but because the posting page will get to filled up.  Remember you can email me anytime and I will try to respond ASAP and should be used if you just want to say Hi.

Hi Megan, to get PowerPoint you have to buy it.   It comes with Mircosoft Office when you buy it along with Word, Excel etc. It is not cheap but it would be a good investment if your parent could afford it.  Here is link to Newegg.com that offers it about 90 dollars and you can install it on 3 computers.  It is considered the Home and Student Version.

 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116135

There is another option: It is called Open Office. It is sort of free, but you have become a memeber ~ Get 3 Years Unlimited Software Download & Support ONLY $11.98/year Have your parent look at this as it is an option.

My computer won't let me play any games and keeps sending me to the site they're from. Do you know what's wrong with my computer? Please answer me as fast as you can.

Hi Nathan, not sure why this is happening.  Is this happening on the games I have on ToolBoxPro?  Could you give me an example, like http://www.netrover.com/~crose/memory/memory2.htm

Copy (Ctrl C) the address that is in your Internet address bar and then paste (Ctrl  V) it into your message to me.

I have been getting a few comments in the guestbook from students that are putting in countries as their location, like Mexico, Brazil etc. Although I would be very excited that my website had made it all the way to these countries I am having doubts. I would rather have you put in locations that are really from where you are. I appreciate all the questions and comments from all of you.

Hi Tommy, both Mavis Beacon and Bryce 6.0 are programs that are only installed on the computers at our school and I would not be able to link to them.  All the sites on my site are links to Internet sites, except the games I made -Technology PowerPoint Projects

Hi Jake, fining good web sites can take a while and not always successful.  I am very careful with what I put on here because I want the sites to be interesting, educational and fun.  I try to avoid web sites that are heavy with advertisements.  I encourage anyone who has found any interesting sites to email them to me for review.  Thank you for visiting my site.

I just thought you could maybe narrow down the categories a little more.” I agreed with him and responded to him that there did need to be a change in the layout and wording. I made some changes and hope it helps in moving around the site easier.   Remember this is site was set up for students to use and any suggestions will be considered and appreciated.

Hi Nathan from Japan ? WOW        April 20,2009 - I checked the mind game section and they seem to be working.  You have to remember that these are only links to Internet sites and I do not have any control over them if they are working, only in assureing that the link is right.  I did create from scratch the powerpoint games found under  -Technology PowerPoint Projects

Hi Emily, I am really glad you like computer class.  Mavis is a program the school bought.  All the sites on Toolboxpro are Internet sites that I have found that I thought students would like.  I think you can buy Mavis for pretty cheap, like 20 bucks or so.  It would be a little different than the one we use in school because it would be for a home computer.  Mr. Spencer
