All students must take Regent exams.  Students are required to pass 1 exam in Math, 1 exam in Science, 1 exam in English/Language Arts, and 2 exams in Social Studies for a regular high school diploma with a 65 or higher.  Over the course of the next few years, Regents exams will be changing and will eventually be digital.

Safety Net for Regents Exams and Regents Competency Exams (RCTs)

  • New York State offers a "safety net" for students who qualify.  Students that have IEPs, have been declassified (grades 8-12 and still have this accommodation documented), and students who the safety net documented in their 504 plans.
Safety Net for Regents exams:
  • Students who have this accommodation can earn a 55 or higher on their Regents exams and recieve credit towards a local diploma.
Safety Net for RCTs
  • Students who have this accommodation are able to take the RCT and earn a 65 or higher for local credit after they have taken the Regents exam in the same academic area.
