Great Extra Credit Ideas For Home!

Students have the option of earning extra credit points at home when they extend their learning, or do something "extra" that we have been learning about in class.

Here is list of ideas that may be done at home and brought in to the teacher;

*-Read a book or magazine at home and write down the title.

*-Read about something you like (a favorite animal, a favorite place) and write some sentences about it.

*-Write a few sentences about a book or article read at home.

*-Practice spelling words by writing them 3 times each.

*-Practice spelling words by writing them in sentences.

*-Write a story.  It can be made up or it can be about a trip you have been or anything else you can think of.

*-Write down and solve basic addition or subtraction facts to 20.

*-Write down and solve addition or subtraction problems using regrouping.

*-Write down and solve basic multiplication or division facts

*-Make a graph (picto, line, bar, tally or pie graph)

*-Try out one of our science experiments (with permission) and record the results.

*-Read or write about the places we learn about in social studies (you could design a pretend postcard or letter to a friend about that place).

*-Check out the weblinks on this page and read more information about our social studies or science units.

*-Make a map-put in a compass rose, grid, map key and scale of miles.

**-Or think of something on your own that goes along with our units of study and bring that in for extra credit!  Have fun!
