State Requirements for CNA Exam
(Administered by New York State Evaluator)
Must have completed an approved Certified Nurse Assisting course
Cost of exam- $115.00-in the form of a money order (paid by candidate)
payable to NYS Commissioner of Health NYNA - This money is due April 5, 2018

Skills: Candidate must independently demonstrate 5 skills; all 5 skills must be successfully completed by candidate to continue on to written exam. Included in all 5 skills are indirect/safety/residents rights.

· Positioning Range of motion

Written Exam: 60 questions

Oral exam is available – cost increases to $135 and candidate must take and pass a reading comprehension test (separate test of 16 questions) to demonstrate minimal English Comprehension
ID- required- Two forms of valid ID with signature one of which MUST have a current photo and signature. Photocopies are not accepted.
· Government issued- driver’s license, alien registration card, military ID or passport
· Official employment or school ID
Must have a volunteer to act as a patient- at least 16 yrs old, speak English and be willing to be bathed, etc.
