"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you'll go." - Dr. Suess
Reading Aloud to students is one of the best ways to convince children of the joys of reading. By reading frequently to the class I am giving the students a chance to sample different kinds of literature and genre and to discover what they want to read on their own. I am exciting their imaginations, stimulating their curiosity about the world, and developing their listening skills.
Every afternoon I read a loud from a chapter book or a favorite story to excite the class about reading. These are some chapter books I have read in class:
A-Z Mysteries
Jigsaw Jones
American Girl Books
The Storm
Magic Treehouse
Cam Jansen
Henry and Mudge
Any book by Kate Dicamillo
I Survived Books
