Second Grade songs

We have been working on our songs for our spring concert. Our concert is Thursday, June 6th  at 9:00 in the morning and at 1:45 in the afternoon in the elementary gym. Here are the words to some of the songs that we are working on:

We Are American

We are American everyday, livin', we are livin' the American way.
We are American everyday, livin', we are livin' the American way.

If you listen, you can hear it, All around us, there's a spirit,
It's the freedom we are livin' and the blessings we are given.

Another song that we started working on is "Yankee Doodle" Here are the words:

Yankee Doodle went to town a riding on a pony.
Stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni.

Yankee Doodle, keep it up. Yankee Doodle dandy.
Mind the music and the step and with the girls be handy.

Father and I went down to camp along with Captain Gooding.
And there we saw the men and boys as thick as hasty pudding.

There was General Washington upon a slapping stallion.
A-giving orders to his men; I guess there was a million.

and another song:

When I see my flag, my country's flag, I am always touched inside.
When I see my flag, my country's flag, I am always filled with pride.
