 Class Expectations

All students are to :
1.)  Follow the LCS Code of Conduct
2.) Be on time with belongings (homework, notebook/folder, book, and pen/pencil)
3.) Respect the learning environment (this includes respecting the teacher, one another, and any guest in the classroom)
4.) Work ONLY on Spanish assignments during class

Class Participation: is based on your performance in class. Students are to come to class prepared to learn, respect others and properties in the classroom, and give their best effort. This involves making attempts in class to answer and contribute, cooperate, and pay attention. Students are expected to: volunteer answers in homework/classwork review, repeat using accurate pronunciation during oral practice, and work “on task” at all times.

Homework: is given regularly and all students are expected to complete it on time. A zero will be given if homework is not in on time—NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! When absent, it is the student’s responsibility to check for missed homework and turn it in the next day. Students who continually fail to complete homework will be asked to make up the assignment(s) during their lunch period or after school!

Notebook: A three-ring binder or folder with lined, loose-leaf paper must be brought to class daily. It will be checked periodically and must include all notes and handouts. Another blue three-ring binder will be used for the Regents review work.

Quizzes and Tests: Expect quizzes frequently. This helps to monitor how you are doing and encourages you to keep up with your daily work and assignments. Tests are given at the end of major units and include sections of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. At the end of the Spanish III year, all students will take the New York State Regents Exam. Spanish I and II students will take final exams that will be in the same form as the Regents exam.
