Sight Words
Sight Words are the most commonly used words in our language. It is important the students know these words by sight without hesitation or sounding them out. When they can do this, they usually can figure out the more difficult words in the passage using the context and basic letter sounds.
In our class, the children will be tested on each of the 5 lists. They will get a sticker on their chart when they can read the list fluently. Students that have all 5 stickers on their chart get to join together for an ice cream party in June. Of course, I would like everyone to be included, so please help your child practice these at home.
Thank you for your help and support. You will notice a big difference in their reading once they have mastered these lists.
