Description:  This exciting year long course offers students the essentials in web site design, development, and maintenance using Adobe/Macromedia Dreamweaver CS3/4.  In the first half of this course, students will learn internet etiquette, ethics, laws, online privacy protection, basic web site design elements, evaluation of web sites, and HTML coding.  In the second half of the course, students will be placed in small groups to plan and storyboard a various web site projects.  They will follow through with debugging, testing, and upon instructor approval, publishing these projects and updating as needed.

  • Encourage awareness of technology s international impact on society, the environment, and culture
  • Develop business skills through data collection, evaluation, and creation of solutions
  • Promote effective, informed, and appropriate communication to multiple audiences
  • Effective collaboration and respect for individual differences while uniting for a common goal
  • Promotion of patience and persistence in troubleshooting design difficulties

 

The skills and methods used to teach this class supports all instructional areas, the National Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S), and the Secretary s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS).
