Introduction
 
            What is Advanced Studio?
 
            Advanced Studio is a course designed to work on skills and ideas that were taught within the first course of Studio art. Terms such as Elements and Principles will be expanded upon, Drawing skills will be more elaborate, and painting will in tale more then just primary and secondary colors. A deeper meaning and thought process will take over every project and assignment given. Reasoning will become more important in each project along with design and structure.
 
            What should you expect?
 
            Expect the un-expected. Meaning; New ideas, New artists, New concepts, Stricter guidelines vs. independent ideas, Reading and much much more! You are as always expected to be on time and ready when the bell rings, as well as turning in materials on time.
As always structure will be very important within the class and messy un-finished projects will be frowned upon. Projects should be clean (unless the project calls for a messy ending) finished and fallow the guidelines set. Late projects or projects that do not meet the due dates will be marked late a week after the due date. Projects should be handed in promptly and should not be late because of time alluded within the class.
 
Materials
 
            Each and every day you should always be prepared with a pencil. Pencils tend to disappear within the art room so do not expect there to be a pencil waiting for you when you enter the room. It is advised that you buy a grouping of pencils to keep in your locker.
            Sketchbooks are not necessary, but they may be useful when it comes to homework and sketching out ideas outside of the class.
            Most materials will be provided; however outside materials purchased on your own will be accepted for most projects.
           
 
Grading Percentages-
 
Attendance will be 20% of a student’s grade
Projects will be 80% of a student’s grade
