Drawing and Painting

Course Description:
In this class students will learn the foundations of drawing and search for the inner structure of an object. Students will study angles, measuring and line quality to achieve a fundamentally solid artwork that is both visually appealing and structurally sound. For two quarters students will experiment with various materials and surfaces to broaden their imagination and skill level.
The Second half of the year will be used to explore painting and the many different ways to paint a painting. Students will experiment with various types of surfaces and paint using various styles. By doing this a student will be able to create their own style of painting and mark making.
Responsibilities of the Student-

Because all work is done within the studio, students are expected to work every day and when absent make up the work to stay on schedule. Attendance counts for 20% of a student’s grade.
